Four girls’ records fell on the day. Brockton junior Vanessa Clerveaux broke a 31-year-old record in the 100-meter hurdles by finishing in 14.37. The old record had been 14.40, set in 1980.
“I was born in 1994, what were they doing all this time?’ said Clerveaux, who was also on the victorious 4 x 100 team (49.06) and finished second in the triple jump. “Wow, they were waiting for someone to break it, I guess they found me.’’
